REVELATION Author Helen V. Damar entered Gul Dukat`s quarters with a frown, then handed him a data clip. Dukat read it silently as his loyal Second watched. "She`s not coming, is she?" Dukat did not answer. "Damn her!" Damar spat."She rejects you over and over again, yet you won`t give up! Can`t you see --" Dukat silenced him with a dismissive wave of his hand, then poured himself a drink. He looked defeated somehow. Damar had never thought this possible. "Ah, but you see, I have given up. Major Kira will never belong to me. She will never forgive my past mistakes." Damar could feel his will slipping away, as his Captain studied him for a moment, with those icey blue eyes. "You may go now and continue your duties," came the familiar strident voice. Damar turned to leave, but he didn`t want to. He wanted to stay. "Sir," his voice calm now, "I just want you to know -- I would never reject you." The door opened, and Damar walked out of sight... ~end~ REFLECTION Summary: A compliment piece to 'Revelation'. Please note: 1st person Damar. I didn`t think he would come looking for me. But he did. I could see the passion flare up in those blue eyes, as he took me in his arms; our bodies pressed together while making love, in a way neither of us had ever known! But, as happy as I was, I would not delude myself into thinking Dukat had any 'real' feelings of love for me. What was closer to the truth, was that he hurting, and needed to be with someone he *knew* wanted him. I close my eyes for a moment, as Dukat sleeps beside me. I think of my wife and son back on Cardassia. I should feel guilty. But I don`t. I`m exactly where I want to be. Even if Dukat never touched me again -- nothing would change. My love and commitment were absolute! "Damar -" My eyes open to the sound of his voice...his arms reach around me and hold me close again... "I`m here," I answer. "I`ll always be here." ~end~ |
