I LOVE PARIS IN THE SPRING
Spring arrived and so did Clark's birthday. He had received a call from Lex asking to see him to go to the castle. Clark rushed over.
"Lex, what's so important that couldn't wait until tonight? You are coming to my birthday party, aren't you? Tell me you don't have another excuse. You've missed my birthday last year." Clark never gave Lex a chance to reply. "Because this is important. It's my 18th birthday. You have to be there."
Lex stared at his friend, his only friend, with an amused half-smile. "Are you done? Because I will be there, but there was something that I wanted to give you without anyone around."
Lex moved toward his desk. He opened a drawer and grabbed an envelope. "This is for you."
Clark quickly opened the envelope and stared… and stared…and stared…
"This is where you thank me," Lex teased.
"Lex…this is…"
"A weekend in Paris, ten days from now. I got the form for your passport. You just need to sign it and I'll have someone take care of it. We'll have it in one day."
"That's not… I hadn't even thought that far. I can't, Lex. This is too much."
Lex's expression changed at the words. His cold mask was firmly in place as he stared at his friend. "You can't use your father to shield you, this time."
Clark frowned. "What do you mean?"
"You've refused every gift I've given you since we met. Your excuse has always been that your father didn't want you to accept them. Now, you are an adult. You are making the decision to accept or refuse what I give you."
Clark was stunned. That meant so much and so little at the same time. What did Lex want to give him? Clark wasn't sure that they were talking about the trip alone. He hoped they weren't. "In that case, thank you. I'd better go and see what I'll need. I don't think denim and flannel are the in thing to wear in Paris."
Lex smiled brightly. "If you need anything, we'll get it in Metropolis before we leave. Just let me know."
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
Clark was nervous. He knew he shouldn't be. He and Lex were only going to Paris, for a weekend. Who was he kidding? He had never been out of Kansas. Now, he was going to see la ville lumière, with Lex.
The fact that he had fought with his parents didn't help. His father had gone ballistic when he had heard about the gift. However, Clark had other plans. He was going to take this opportunity to discover what Lex's true feelings for him were. They had been tiptoeing around the issue for years. If Lex thought that he was old enough to make his own decisions despite his parents' opinion, then he was old enough to be in a relationship with Lex.
"Who does he think he is? He's just showing off to impress you," Jonathan had told him.
Clark had to use all of his control not to yell back. However, he had told both his parents in no uncertain terms that he was now an adult and would make his own decisions. Neither had been too happy with that edict.
Clark was brought back to the present by the roar of Lex's Ferrari. He couldn't help smile when he saw his elegant friend get out of the car and approach the house.
Clark opened the screen door. "Hey, Lex. Give me a second. I just need to get my suitcase from upstairs."
"Don't worry, Clark. The plane *will* wait for us. We're using the LexCorp. plane." He took a document from his inside jacket pocket. "This is your passport, as promised."
Clark took it, opened it slowly and grinned. "I'm really going to Paris."
"Yes, you are, my friend. And this is just the beginning. I'll show you the world."
Clark blushed. "Thanks. This is just…"
"This is wrong," his father sentenced as he entered the Kent kitchen. "Don't think I don't know what you're doing, Luthor. You won't buy my family."
"I'd like to point out that Clark and I have been friends for three years, now. I have done anything in my powers to protect this family, including killing to save your life. I think that by now, any reasonable person would have understood that I'd not hurt Clark." Lex smirked. "However, we all know how reasonable you can get when you hear the name Luthor. Don't blame the problems you had with my father on me." Lex had been nice to Jonathan for three years, but all bets were off now. Clark was an adult and he had is own opinion of Lex. While the young Luthor would not purposely look for a fight, he would not back down.
"Lex, please, just wait for me in the car. I'll get my stuff and we can leave." Clark kept his eyes on his father, hoping that Jonathan wouldn't push this any further.
Jonathan seemed to read Clark's stand and stepped back. Lex nodded curtly at the older man and went outside. Clark finally breathed in relief. "Dad, please trust me on this. I know Lex better than you think and I know he wouldn't hurt me."
"I trust you, Son. I'm not sure if I can ever trust a Luthor." Jonathan put a hand on his son's arm. "I'm sorry we fought. I just…I find it difficult to control my temper sometimes. Enjoy your trip, and…be careful."
Clark nodded. He used his superspeed to go to his room, collect his luggage and be back downstairs in mere seconds. "I'll see you Sunday night, Dad."
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
"Nervous?" Lex asked as he watched Clark clutch on the armrest until his knuckles turned white.
The younger man smiled sheepishly. "Yep, I don't like to fly." And not only with a plane, he added mentally. He had discovered his ability to fly the year before. It had taken longer than usual to control this new power, but he could now control his flying well enough. His biggest problem was that he still wanted to throw up every time he was up in the air.
"Do you want to watch a movie? Maybe, it'll help you relax."
"No, I'll be fine." Contrary to the statement, Clark clutched the armrest even more. If he wasn't careful, he would break the darn thing, he realized. "Okay, so I'm not fine," he finally admitted. "But I'd rather talk to you than watch a movie."
"You mean I can put you to sleep faster than celluloid," Lex noted with a smile.
Clark felt mortified, then he understood that Lex was teasing him. Well, tit for tat. Clark wasn't afraid anymore. He too knew how to play the game. "You could never put me to sleep. You're the most fascinating person I know."
Clark grinned at the surprised look on Lex's face. Oh yes, Lex was going to be surprised this weekend.
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
Clark couldn't believe his eyes. They were at the Ritz. Lex had a suite booked for them. When they reached their room, Clark looked around the main room. It was decorated in refined and traditional French classicism. The walls were covered by exquisite tapestries. A crystal chandelier illuminated the entire room. The furniture consisted of true antiques, not the one found in garage sales and passed as such back in Kansas. The value of the furniture could probably cover the expenses of every farm in Smallville for a few decades, Clark decided.
"From the wide-eyes, mouth-open stare, I assume you like it." There was no sarcasm in Lex's voice, only genuine interest.
"Like it? Lex, this is…I'm afraid that if I sit I'll vandalize a piece of history. I love it."
Lex chuckled. "That's not the way I would have described it, but as long as you like it…"
Clark began to investigate the suite. He opened one door and saw the bedroom. He was glad that he wasn't facing Lex, because he could feel the full-body blush caused by the thoughts of what he wanted to do with Lex, in that bed.
Satisfied by his discovery, he moved toward the other door. He opened and stared at a second bedroom. Lex saw the frown appearing on Clark's face. "Is something wrong, Clark?"
"There are two bedroom," he stated confused.
"What were you expecting?"
Clark stared at his friend. Lex could almost hear the wheels in Clark's brain turning.
"Lex, I might be way out of hand and have misread everything you said and did in the past three years and if that's the case I hope you can forget everything I'm about to say and we'll stay friends. However, I can't live with these doubts any longer." Clark took a deep breath. "I thought…when you asked me, that you would tell me, but obviously you aren't going to." Oh, it had seemed so easy in his mind, but now Clark couldn't find the right words. He began pacing.
"No matter what you tell me, we'll always be friends. Just tell me, Clark," Lex told him softly. He wanted to calm the distressed boy.
"Well, I know you like women. You've brought plenty of them to Smallville," Clark added with bitterness. "But you keep staring at me. And when you do, I can feel you trying to possess me. I thought that you never tried anything because of the law and I was a minor, but now…I'm an adult; we are in a foreign country. Why two bedrooms?" he finally asked.
Lex sat on a chair. He steepled his fingers together and looked up into confused blue eyes. "I didn't think you had noticed." Lex didn't know how to start and this seemed the safest course.
Clark rolled his eyes and sat next to his friend. "A blind person would have noticed. I just didn't want to pressure you. As I said, I thought you never made a move because I was a minor and the law."
Lex snorted. "Please, Clark, no one would have been able to prove a thing unless you told them. Although I suspect that most people already assumed that we were having sex. I think your father thinks we are having sex."
"So, why did you hold back?"
Lex shrugged and sighed. "This is surreal, Clark. You're calmly sitting next to me, asking why I didn't try to seduce you." Lex shook his head. "I could have never pictured this discussion in a million years. You should be blushing, avoiding my eyes and be all bashful. You shouldn't be so direct."
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I've grown up, Lex. I'm not the same person that had a crush on the girl next door. I've been waiting patiently for you to say something."
Lex got up and stalked around the room like a trapped feline. "What was I supposed to tell you? 'Hey, Clark, I think I have feelings for you, but since I've never actually had a relationship before, I'm not sure'. Or maybe I should have said 'Clark, I want to fuck you, but in the morning I'm sure to be a bastard'. No, Clark, we are friends and it's better this way."
"You would never have said anything if I didn't bring it up," Clark accused. "You would have kept lying to me."
Lex sneered. "Right, this is fresh coming from Mr. Honest. Clark, I've stopped pushing for the truth a long time ago, but I'm not stupid. I know you lie to me every time you go off and save someone else. That's fine. I've learned to deal with that, but don't sit there and point your finger at me."
Clark got up and was at Lex's side in the blink of an eye. "You're right. I did lie to you, but as you have pointed out a few times in the past weeks. I was a minor and I obeyed my parents. Now, I make my own decisions." He led Lex toward the balcony.
They walked outside. Below them, Paris was lit by hundreds of thousands of lights. It was almost midnight, but true to its name, the city was bright. Clark picked Lex up.
"Put me down, Clark. I'm not Scarlett O'Hara."
Clark chuckled. "I would never confuse you for a Southern belle. You're missing the curls."
"Really funny, Clark. Just let go."
"I don't think so. Just hold on tight." With Lex in his arms, Clark began to levitate until they were flying.
Lex screamed - or he would have if he had found his voice. "Cl-Clark, we're flying."
"I know, Lex," Clark said calmly.
"You can…you can fly and you're afraid of a plane." Keep thinking about the minutia, Lex told himself. As long as he kept thinking about the inconsequential things, he wouldn't have to accept that his friend could fly.
They landed on the scenic floor of the Eiffel Tower. There were no tourists due to the hour, but Lex didn't care about anything. His first thought was that he was on solid ground again, or as solid as one could be at 900 feet up in the air.
"You do that to me again and I'll kick your ass, Clark. You do not pick me up like a damsel in distress and force me to fly. Understood?" Lex was shaking. He wasn't sure if it was the anger or the fear materializing now that he was safe again.
Clark noticed and pulled him close. "I'm sorry, Lex. I didn't have the courage to tell you. I guess this made it a little more real… more romantic."
"Romantic? You must be out of your mind. First, you tell me you want me. Second, I still don't know exactly what the truth is. Third, you scared the shit out of me. And you know I would never tell anyone else this."
"Lex, just turn around." Clark kept his arms around his friend as Lex turned to look at the city spread beneath them. "Isn't it beautiful?" he whispered in Lex's ear.
Lex leaned against Clark's chest. "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder."
Clark chuckled. "You're starting to sound like my father. Maybe the two of you should stop hiding behind overused clichés and say what you really think."
"What I think is that I don't give a fuck about Paris at the moment. Why can you fly?" Lex hadn't meant to sound so rude or direct, but this was killing him. He had waited three years and now Clark wanted to discuss aesthetics.
"I could find excuses, but I won't. I'm an alien. I found out the day you hit me with the Porsche. I came to earth on a ship when I was a baby. Mom and dad found me during the meteorite shower, just before they found you and your father in the field. They have told me that I'm not allowed to tell anyone, but Pete found the ship after the storm, two years ago. I think I covered everything." Clark breathed and waited for Lex's response.
They stayed in silence in each other's arms. Lex found himself breathing in rhythm with Clark. His mind went through everything Clark had told him. Somehow the alien part didn't bother him. He always thought Clark was different. No, there was just one thing that bothered Lex. He knew he would look like an ass, but he couldn't stop from saying, "Pete has known for two years."
Clark sniggered. "I tell you I'm an alien and the only thing you can comment on is the fact that Pete found out first." Lex pushed away, or at least he tried to, but Clark held tight. "I'm sorry, Lex. I didn't mean to make fun of you. It's just…you sounded jealous."
"Of course, I'm jealous. I considered you my friend, my best friend, but you told Pete. Then, you wait two years to tell me." Lex fought against his human bondage, but Clark wouldn't let go.
"Please, listen to me. I told Pete because I had no choice. He saw the ship and I tried to cover it up, but he wouldn't believe me. I couldn't lose his friendship-"
"But you had no qualms lying to me. You knew I suspected since the first moment, but you lied to me time and time again." Lex shook his head. "Naturally, you never thought that you could lose my friendship, because I'm too stupid to force you to tell me."
"Lex, that's not why."
"I really don't want to hear it," Lex answered coldly. "It's cold and I don't have my coat. Can you take me back to the hotel or should I find someone to get me down?"
"Of course I'll take you," Clark replied hurt. He felt the tension in Lex's body and wanted to cry. He had been afraid of Lex's reaction to his revelation, but he never thought that Lex would concentrate on his lies more than anything else. "Are you sure you don't want to talk about any of this?"
Lex shook his head. "I want to go."
Clark nodded. Keeping Lex close, he started the flight back.
Lex tucked his head against Clark's chest. The few tears at the corners of his eyes were due to the speed and the cold; they had nothing to do with Clark's cruelty. When they reached the hotel room, Lex walked silently into one of the bedrooms and locked the door.
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
Clark had been awake for a few hours. Between the jetlag, his biological need of only a few hours of sleep and tension over the fight, he simply couldn't stay in bed. He was waiting patiently in the living room when he heard Lex move around.
Soon, the billionaire opened the door with his suitcase in his hand.
"Where are you going, Lex?" Clark asked alarmed.
"I'm going home. You can stay. The room will be paid and I'll send the jet back to pick you up tomorrow. Not that you need it. You could probably get back faster than the plane."
Clark grabbed his arm. "I'm going with you. There is no point in staying here without you."
If he was hoping to change Lex's mind, Clark was disappointed. Lex merely stared at him and nodded. "All right, we're going back to Smallville."
The flight was made in complete silent. If Clark had been nervous or needed reassurance, he surely didn't get it from Lex. The businessman closed his eyes and ignored the world until the plane landed again.
If Clark had hoped that things would return to normal once they got back, he was certainly wrong. His phone calls weren't answered nor returned. He was denied entrance at the castle and the plant. The few times that he had dared to sneak in, Lex had pretended that he wasn't there and refused to say a single word.
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
Jonathan walked inside Lex's office without waiting to be announced. "Clark hasn't eaten, slept or talked to us since you returned from Paris." Jonathan grabbed Lex's jacket and pulled him closer until they were face to face. "What did you do to my son?"
Lex pushed the older Kent away, made a dramatic show of smoothing his jacket and then stared at Jonathan. "The reason your son is sulking is because I didn't do anything to him or with him. And although it is none of your business, I never did in the past either. Clark was my friend. I'm just sorry that I misjudged him. Now, if you'd leave, I actually have to work to employ three thousand people in this miserable town. Good day, Mr. Kent." Having dismissed the older man, Lex sat back behind his computer, ignoring the man still in his office.
"You never did anything?" Jonathan seemed in shock.
"No," Lex answered without raising his eyes from his laptop.
"Never touched him?"
"Unless you mean a handshake or a pat on the shoulder, no, I've never touched him," Lex replied in a monotone voice.
"He's upset because you wouldn't…"
"Touch him, talk to him, want to see him again. Unlike you, I give people a chance, but never more than one. Clark had his chance and he blew it. You should go home happy. I'm out of your hair forever. Have a good life."
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
Clark wasn't surprised when his parents confronted him. He was waiting for their 'talk' telling him how Lex was not worth his time. He would have never expected what happened that evening.
Jonathan and Martha come into the barn to talk to him. Jonathan sat next to him on the couch while his mother moved the chair closer to her two men.
His father put a hand on Clark's knee and said, "Son, I can't really say that I understand what you see in Lex Luthor, but obviously you care for him. He can't be so bad if after three years you still trust him."
"He doesn't trust me," Clark whispered.
"Clark, we don't know what happened, but you can't give up on your friendship so easily," his mother told him
Clark laughed sadly. "He hates me, Mom. He'll never speak to me again. Lex is planning his life to avoid me. He doesn't go to the Talon when he knows I'm there. He stays out of downtown in the weekends so he doesn't meet me by mistake."
"Where would he be at this time?" Martha prodded.
Clark looked at his watch. It was past 10:00 at night. "He's at the Talon. He always stays with Lana until she closes at 10:30. I think it's his way to make sure that nothing happens and the only time when he doesn't have to see me."
"Go to him, Clark." Jonathan laughed at the shocked expression on his son's face. "I know. I can't believe it myself, but you are obviously suffering because of this separation. If you feel so strongly about Lex, go talk to him."
Clark noticed how careful they all were about not saying what kind of feelings Clark had for Lex, but this was good enough. His parents were supporting him and this gave him the courage to meet Lex once more.
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
Clark heard the laughter before entering the coffee shop. When he opened the glass doors, he saw that Lana and Chloe were sitting on each side of Lex. Clark felt the pang of jealousy. His three friends seemed very comfortable with each other and Lex had his hand on Lana's arm while smirking at Chloe.
Clark fought the urge to kill the two girls and approached. "Hi guys, Lex."
Lex glared at him. Clark was sure that his friend would have fried him if he'd had laser vision. "Ladies, it's time for me to go. Enjoy your night." Lex tried to leave, but Clark grabbed his arm.
"Please, Lex. I came here to talk to you. I can't stand being away from you. I acted like an idiot, but please give me a chance." Clark didn't care that Lana and Chloe were staring at them, very interested on what was happening, or that there were other patrons in the coffee shop. He would do anything to get a chance to talk to Lex.
"I've given you more chances than I've given anyone else. You don't get anymore. Now, let me go." Clark pulled back his hand hastily. He hadn't realized that he was holding Lex in a tight grip.
"What can I do to change your mind, Lex?"
"Just leave me alone," Lex answered dejectedly. He closed his eyes to avoid seeing Clark's glazed eyes. When he opened his eyes again, Clark was gone. Lana and Chloe were still staring at him.
"Lex, are you all right?" Leave it to Lana to always worry about others, Lex thought.
"Yes, I'm fine."
Chloe snorted. "Yes, and I'm the Queen of England. I don't know what Clark did, but it can't be bad. He is Clark, after all."
"Yes, and we all know that Clark would never lie to any of us," Lex replied sarcastically.
"Lex, we all know that Clark has his secrets. We've learned to deal with the fact that he won't tell anyone," Lana said. So the princess actually had a brain, Lex mused.
"I felt like you for three years. Thing is that he did tell someone, someone other than one of us." Lex regretted telling them. He saw the hurt in the two girls' eyes.
"Clark must have his reasons." Chloe was always willing to see Clark's good side. "Lex, haven't you done something that you thought it was right, but proved to be wrong in the end?"
Lex almost said 'no', but then he thought about Amanda, his sweet friend. Lex had agreed to his father's term to protect her, but in the end she had killed herself. Since he had found out, Lex had outguessed himself. What if she had gone to trial? She could have claimed defense of a third person. There were enough people present to testify to that, even if Lex had to pay all of them, that she would have been found innocent. Maybe she would have lived with self-doubts. Maybe their friendship would have helped her. Maybe Chloe was right.
"Thanks, Chloe." He didn't say anymore before leaving the Talon.
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
Clark was lying on the couch in the Fortress of Solitude. He heard the soft noise of footsteps. He didn't open his eyes. It was probably one of his parents, trying to talk to him again.
When he had returned from the Talon, he had gone straight to the barn. His parents had followed him there. He told them that he didn't want to discuss it at the moment, but was certain that Lex would never talk to him again. Clark guessed that his mother was back trying to comfort him.
"Are you sleeping?"
Clark jumped at Lex's voice. "What are you doing here? I mean…" Clark closed his eyes. "I mean I didn't think you wanted to see me."
Lex, feigning a calm he didn't feel at the moment, sat next to Clark on the couch. "I'm not ready to forgive you, but I want to talk." Clark nodded. "Let's start with the easy part. When did you decide that you wanted a relationship with me?"
Clark laughed. "I didn't decide Lex. About a year ago, I realized that I liked girls for the mind. Wasn't that a surprise! I didn't feel anything but intellectual interest. That's when I started questioning my gender preferences. Then, I met Andrew. We went out for a few months. We kept it a secret."
Lex snorted. "You seem really good at keeping secrets."
"I guess I am." Clark took a deep and useless breath. He had learned that he really didn't need to breath anymore, but it was habit. "Anyway, after we broke up, I started looking around and saw you, all your stares and touches. That's when I knew what a fool I had been. The signs had been there since we met, but I just couldn't see them. Once I felt comfortable with your behavior, I learned that I missed them, missed you when you were not around. I had hoped that our trip…" Clark turned his head. He couldn't look at Lex's accusing eyes.
Clark almost cried when he felt Lex's arm around his shoulder. He moved closer to his friend, but still refused to look at Lex.
"If you saw how much I cared for you, why didn't you trust me? You have to know that it's not only sexual interest. If that had been the case, I would have disappeared from your life a long time ago."
"Don't you think I know that?" Lex felt the desperation in Clark's voice, but didn't interrupt his younger friend. "The more I realized that I wanted to be with you, the worse I felt for lying. The worse I felt, the longer I lied. It was a vicious circle and I didn't know what to do."
"The trip was the perfect occasion to break that circle and I didn't give you the opportunity to explain," Lex noted.
"It's not your fault, Lex," Clark rushed to say. "It was just too much. Can we…please, can we go back to being friends?"
Lex grabbed Clark's jaw and forced his friend to look at him. Lex kissed the younger man, playing with Clark's lips, coaxing him to respond. Softly, they kissed, never asking or wanting more. When they broke the contact, Lex stared into deep blue eyes. "I'm still upset, Clark, but I'm trying to be understanding. We're going to have to talk some more about this, but for now it's better if I just go home."
"I can see you tomorrow, right? No disappearing act, no unanswered and unreturned phone calls, and no gates locked."
Lex laughed. "No, none of that."
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
A month later, Lex and Clark were lying on Lex's couch. Lex rested on Clark's larger frame. "The moon is beautiful, so romantic," Lex ventured.
Clark chuckled. "You must be the only person who finds romantic asking his servants to push the couch next to the glass door balcony so we can watch the night sky. We could have done it ourselves. Hell, I could have done it with your entire staff sitting on the couch."
"I pay them and there are security cameras in the castle. I trust my security, but you never know when something reaches my father. You do not use any of your powers in here, ever again. Understood?"
Clark nodded. "I promise, just like I did yesterday and the day before. Stop being so paranoid."
"I'm sorry, but that's like asking me to donate all my money to charity. It's heresy."
Clark laughed again, but then he became serious. "Lex, do you have any plans for the weekend."
Lex thought about it. "No, not really. Why?"
"I want you to keep it open for us. Tell everyone that you won't be able to be reached. And don't ask anything more. It's a surprise."
~*~LL~*~CK~*~
On Friday afternoon, Lex arrived to the Kents as Clark had requested. He didn't even bother going into the house, but went straight to the barn.
"You're here."
"Brilliant observation, Clark. Is that one of your alien powers?" Lex teased.
"You're an idiot, Lex. Did you bring what I asked?" Clark changed the subject so quickly that Lex needed a moment to understand that he was being asked something.
"Oh yes, my clothes. They're in the car."
"Go get them, please."
Lex sighed but went back to his Ferrari. He returned carrying wooden hangers that held his clothes. "There you go."
Clark pulled the clothes for the hangers and stuck them in a backpack under Lex's affronted eyes. "Don't worry, you can always have them pressed again," Clark assured him. Clark put on the backpack, approached Lex, put a ski mask on his now boyfriend with a quick 'trust me' and soon they were flying.
They landed in a small rue, behind the Ritz hotel. Clark took Lex's ski mask off, fixed his clothes and kissed him.
"I hate this flying business, Clark. Never again," Lex warned.
"We have to go back home on Sunday. Besides this is faster that your plane. Now, let's get inside. I begged your secretary to make reservations for us."
Lex walked inside their room and looked confused. "This is not a suite," he finally said.
"I wasn't about to take the risk that you'd send me to another room to sleep. One room, one bed, no couches." Clark hugged Lex from behind and kissed his neck. "I think this is just perfect."
Clark kept nibbling on Lex's neck as he took off the billionaire's clothes. Clark's fingers deftly opened buttons and zipper. "God, I want you naked."
Lex moaned. "Please, help yourself. I don't mind your powers at the moment."
Usually, Lex didn't want Clark to use his powers. Tonight, Clark didn't waste time for a counter order. They were naked and on the bed in seconds.
"Fast enough for you?" Clark asked in a teasing tone.
"You know we could have done this in Smallville. You didn't have to scare me out of my wits with that flight."
"Nah, I wanted our first time to be special," Clark answered.
"It's not like you gave us time to enjoy Paris."
"Don't worry, plenty of time later." Clark cut off anything Lex might have said by kissing him.
The tension of three years of teasing exploded. Their mouths joined while their hands touched each other's bodies. Lex hadn't expected Clark to be so experienced. He should have been jealous, but he couldn't think. He simply needed Clark, his Clark to touch him, love him, make him forget all lies that had existed between them.
Lex began to beg, wanting more and now. They would have time for slow and tender. They had an eternity in front of them. He felt a gust of wind and coldness for an instant before Clark returned and his slicked fingers were pressing against Lex's asshole.
"Lex?"
Lex almost smiled at the hesitation, but he was not about to start a discussion about who was going to bottom. Not when strong fingers were teasing his ass. He wanted Clark to start ramming into him, bring three years of waiting to its end. But Clark wouldn't move. He just stared at Lex, eyes full of fear and concern.
"I want this, Clark," Lex told him in a voice that left no doubt that he meant it.
The two lovers began moving, discovering their bodies for the first time. Clark refused to speed up the tempo, instead he took his time learning Lex's reaction to his touches and kisses. Tenderly, Clark moved inside Lex's body until they reached they orgasm before falling asleep in each other's arms.
Clark woke up in the middle of the night. He blinked and focused. He realized that Lex was in the balcony. He put on his robe and joined his lover. He slipped his arms around Lex and pulled him close until Lex was resting against his chest.
"Isn't it cold, Lex?"
Lex shrugged. "I couldn't sleep and didn't want to wake you up."
"What's gotten you so enthralled?"
"You know, I love this city. It's so full of life." Lex turned his head and kissed his lover. "But I love Paris in the spring best."
