Clark had harboured fantasies about what Lex might do with his face buried in Clark's lap - throwing up was not one of them.

This was one of the many thoughts going through the young Kent’s mind as he bemusedly watched his best friend do something so ordinary and un-Luthorlike.  Shocked, he could only stare as the only man he ever thought was unflappable, flip his lid, literally speaking.  He wondered if the idea of their having sex was so unfeasible and horrifying that the first thing Lex did upon hearing his proposals was to empty the contents of his stomach on Clark’s lap.

As he watched Lex’s face fill up either in anger or mortification, Clark tried to disabuse himself of the notion that he was distasteful.  After all the lies, crossroads, misunderstandings, fights and making up, his friendship with Lex meant too much for him to intentionally destroy it with a sexual escapade.  As he wrinkled his nose at the smell emanating from his aforementioned lap, Clark thought back to the immediate past months, and could see all the signals that had brought them to this moment.

As Lex left the room apologizing profusely and not meeting his eyes, Clark could only conclude that it was his second proposal that caused his friend’s discomfiture. … But, Clark’s mind tried to convince him otherwise.  Lex was his world wise friend, a man of the world.  Someone that Clark knew had seen more, done more, and known more about life for his suggestion to be that much of a shock.  If anyone should complain, it should have been him but ever since Jor-El had told him of this particular Kryptonian tradition, he’d accepted it and moved on, because as long as he was sharing the experience with Lex, what did it matter.

After all, it wasn’t all that unreasonable that they were expected to share their first time together in the presence of Jonathan Kent, Martha Kent and Lionel Luthor, Was it? His people believed that as parents of the bonded pair, they had to be there to ensure that the mates didn’t hurt each other and tradition had to be fulfilled, didn’t it???

The End.
