Bleudiablo all time line errors are my own and I have no idea if Lex's school was actually a boarding school but it is now. hope you enjoy. Lex Luthor once again climbed out of the helicopter at the plant in Smallville, it was only three months since he had last been here and only three weeks since he had recovered from his previous visit. He hadn’t wanted to come and visit this bloody town again but his father had insisted, saying that Luthors were scared of nothing, especially not hick towns in the middle of Kansas. He knew in his own that his father loved him, it just wasn’t the way that normal boys were loved because unlike other little boys, he was leader, a boy who would grow up to change the world. Lex frowned when they climbed into a car after climbing out of the Helicopter, weren’t they here about the plant? He looked at his father for an explanation as he had been told nothing except they were going to Smallville. “Where are we going?” “I have business at one of the farms,” Was all his father said and Lex knew better than to ask again. The ten year old boy stared out of the window, watching field after field go past before they pulled up in front of a house that looked like it was the typical Kansas farm house. Lionel led the way to the front door, knocking only once and not waiting for an answer before walking in. “Lionel,” a woman said form the kitchen, Lex looked over and could see she had flour all over her hands. She was very beautiful and in a way reminded him of his mum. He couldn’t remember the last time anyone had called his father Lionel, except for his mother and the way she said it he knew she was her father’s equal. Lex couldn’t remember the last time he had met his father’s equal, never in any of the business meetings he had been forced to sit through and none of his father’s workers even dared to call him Lionel. Yet this woman, this woman who obviously didn’t have as much money or power as his father was his equal. “Martha,” Lionel said, “Where is your husband? The three of us have some business.” “He’s upstairs,” Martha said as she started drying her hands, “Jonathan, Lionel and Lex are here,” she shouted. “Coming,” was the deep reply to her shout and a few seconds later a tall man came down the stairs, like the woman, Lex somehow knew that this man was also an equal to his father. The man came and stood at the entrance to the kitchen, Lex looked him up and down, wondering how this ordinary looking man could be his father’s equal. If he hadn’t been looking so closely at the man, he doubted he wouldn’t have seen the small hands clutching a thick thigh clad in denim. Martha came over to the four of them and removed a small boy from behind Jonathan. The boy had a head full of dark brown, nearly black hair and for the first time since the meteor shower he wasn’t jealous of someone else with hair, he instead found himself wanting to run his hands through it. Wide green eyes looked at Lionel first then him and Lex found himself smiling at the smaller boy, feeling ridiculously happy when the other boy smiled back, showing a full set of bright white teeth. The boy wore a red flannel shirt, blue jeans and little black boots that looked like the ones Jonathan was wearing. “Clark do you remember Lex?” Martha asked the small boy. Clark, Lex thought, shaping the word with his mouth and deciding it suited the smaller boy. Clark gave Lex a good look over, pausing at his head and tilting his head to one side like he was thinking. Finally the small head bobbed up and down before he walked across the room to Lex and stroked one small hand over his head. Lex frowned as he found himself leaning into the caress instead of backing away like he normally did when someone wanted to touch his head since the meteors, even when his mother did it. Clark gave him another smile then turned and gave his parents the same smile, Martha nodded her head, “We found Clark after the meteor shower, he doesn’t speak, we don’t think he remembers how to but he is starting to understand more and more when we speak,” Martha turned to look at her son, “Clark why don’t you show Lex your room while your dad and I talk with his dad.” Clark bobbed his head again and reached for Lex’s hand, “Carefully,” Jonathan said and when Clark took his hand it reminded him of when he had caught a butterfly, a firm hold but utterly gentle at the same time. “Go with Clark, Lex; this business doesn’t concern you.” Neither did any of the other meetings he had been forced to sit in on, Lex thought, but this time he didn’t mind, Clark was gently tugging him back towards the stairs. “Alright Clark show me your room.” At the top of the stairs, he was gently tugged into a room that probably about half the size of his at the Luthorcorp Penthouse but it suited Clark. It was painted light blue with a bed along one side, the quilt cover had pictures of cats and dogs on it and there was a huge red bean bag sat on one of the bed. There were four posters up, one with numbers, another with letters, the third had farm animals on it and the final one was covered in different types of food. They seemed silly but looking down at the small boy he realized that if the meteor shower had wiped out Clark’s memory then he would be learning all of this kind of thing again. He knew that radiation could do lots of different things to people, depending on what type of radiation it was and no-one knew where the meteor had even come from so who knew what radiation they gave off. The radiation could have easily wiped out the small boy’s memory, as easy as it had his hair, and Lex found it was a pity that he couldn’t hear Clark’s voice. Clark pulled Lex to another corner and motioned for Lex to sit down, Lex sat opposite Clark and crossed his legs, Clark mimicking his position. They spent the next few minutes going through Clark’s toy box, Lex telling Clark what each thing was before they went onto the next one. “You have lots of beautiful toys Clark,” Lex said when he put down the last toy, Clark’s pride and joy, a red tractor. Clark beamed at him then stood up and maneuvered Lex towards the bed, Lex allowed the smaller boy to move him until the smaller boy’s grip on his wrist turned from tight to painful. With a gasp of pain he yanked his hand free of the smaller hand, Clark backed away quickly, his green eyes wide and filling with tears. Lex remembered back to what Jonathan had said downstairs, just one word to his son : “Careful”. Lex jumped off the bed and crouched in front of Clark, wrapping his arms around the small boy, wondering if the radiation had also made Clark stronger like it had made him better. He’d been sick before the shower, his asthma and other problems, but afterwards the doctors said he was better. “I’m okay Clark, I’m okay. Look see, no harm you just have to be careful with you strength,” Lex said, showing Clark his unharmed wrist. Clark took the wrist, very gently and turned it this way and that, making sure for himself it was alright before the little head did its nodding dog impression again. “Now I think we were on your bed.” Clark just beamed and pulled Lex back towards the bed, letting the smaller boy lead again he soon found himself leaning up against the wall while Clark sat between his legs, his back against Lex’s chest. “Very comfortable, Clark, but what now?” Clark leaned over and pulled something from under his pillow then gave it to Lex, “Mark and Julia at the Zoo,” he read off the front of the book Clark had handed him, “Do you want me to read to you?” Clark bobbed his head and Lex smiled as he opened the front page, starting to read to the small boy. He doubted books like these had ever seen the inside of the Luthor household and he doubted even more that he would have ever read them even if they had made it to the penthouse. But he was quite happy to read it to Clark, to make animal noises and silly voices. They were half way through the second book (Mark and Julia at the circus) when Martha called them back downstairs. Clark looked upset but put his book back under his pillow and went down to his mother, Lex’s hand clutched tightly but carefully in his own smaller one. Jonathan was no where to be seen but his father was stood by the door, obviously waiting for him. “Come on, Lex, we have been in this town long enough.” His father was obviously eager to leave Smallville but Lex found he didn’t want to leave this little hicktown. NO, it wasn’t that he didn’t want to leave Smallville, he didn’t want to leave Clark and risk never seeing the younger boy again. But like all mothers, Martha seemed to be able to read his mind because as she took Clark’s hand from him, she handed him a slip of paper, “Our address, so you can write whenever you want and we’ll write back. “Thank-you Martha,” he said, opening the piece of paper to read the address before looking back at Clark, “Bye Clark,” he said and waved as he moved so he was stood in front of his father. Lex saw Clark glance at Lionel stood behind him before darting forward and giving Lex a hug and then a kiss on the cheek before returning to his mother’s side. Lex smiled, he could almost feel the warmth spreading from the spot on his cheek that Clark had kissed. The bald millionaire-to-be met huge green eyes and smiled, “I’ll write soon, Clark,” he promised, uncaring about his dad’s cool presence behind him, he would not loose contact with Clark. Clark gave him a huge smile and Lex let his hand return to his trouser pocket where he had put the precious address. He was glad his memory was so good and he already knew it so even if his dad, he would still be able to write to Clark. In the limousine nothing was said about Clark and his family, not the reason they had visited the farm or the address in his pocket and for that he was glad. He wanted Clark to his and his alone, there was something between them, some bond : Destiny. +++ Lex wrote his first letter to Clark after his first day back at Excelsior, two days after his second trip to Smallville. “Dear Clark, Your mom will have to read this to you but it is just for you, a letter just for Clark Kent. My address is above so that you can write back, when I move out for the holidays I’ll send you the new address. My school is a boarding school and apart from my dad sometimes taking me out of school for meetings, I stay here most of the time. I had my first day back at school today since the meteors hit and I’m still ahead of everyone else, just not as far as I was before the shower. My friend Bruce, although he isn’t my best friend -- that’s you Clark, was happy to see me but I don’t think anyone else was. They keep calling me lots of names and one boy even pulled my wig off. Then another boy hit me when I tried to get my wig back, he gave me a black eye and Bruce said he would hurt anyone else who tried to get my wig or hit me, He could too, he’s not really big but he knows lots of martial arts, his parents were killed a few years ago and he’s really good. I’ll write again soon. Love Lex” He hadn’t been sure about how to end it, he didn't use Love except to his mother but with Clark it felt right. He found an envelope that matched his stationary and carefully wrote the address before going to find his Year Master. The teacher gave him a stamp and agreed to post it for him, Lex went back to his room with a smile on his face and a hope that Clark would write back soon. Lex had to wait four whole days before a letter arrived for him, he got it at lunch time and hid it in his pocket until after classes had finished and he could hide himself in his room and read the precious letter. In the envelope he was surprised to find not only a letter but also a picture of him reading to Clark. “Dear Lex, As you may have guessed, this is Martha writing and not Clark yet. It is only a day and a half since he got your letter and I must have read it to him at least twenty times already and I don’t know how many times he has made his dad read it to him. He is carrying the letter and a copy of the photo you have with him all the time. Incase you were wondering about the photo, I came up to check on you two and saw you, I had to take a photo when I saw you two, neither of you even noticed. Clark is sitting beside me, telling me in his own way what he wants to write and tell you. He has a new book that his dad got him from in town, all about a little boy who gets a dog. Also after some explaining, I told him what a wig was and I get the impression that he doesn’t like it. He keeps pulling out his photo of you and stroking your head pitifully. There is a fair in town at the moment and Clark keeps trying to get us take him, the flyer for the fair has been brought out almost as often as your letter and photo. Lots of love Martha and Clark.” It was Clark who made him decide not to bother with the wig any more, it wasn’t as if he liked the bloody thing, it itched and always seemed to be on the verge of falling off. Lex stood and looked in the mirror at himself, throwing his wig onto his bed and smiled, he didn’t look like a freak or abnormal, he was elegant, a noble. He was Lex Luthor, one of the richest and most powerful boys in the world. +++ It was five months later, three and a half months since Clark had started signing his own name and two letters since Clark had started writing them himself, the day before his tenth birthday that his Year Master said he had a phone call. He had no idea who would be phoning him, his father had phoned the headmaster the previous day saying he would be at the school at ten on his birthday to pick him up. “Hello,” Lex said cautiously into the phone in his Year Master’s office. “Lex, me Clark.” Lex sank back into the seat, “Clark?” He asked, not quiet believing it. “Yep,” Clark replied, popping the ‘P’ sound at the end. “You’re talking now?” “Yep, mom what Clark talk to Lex?” Lex could hear Martha in the background, “'Say' to Lex, baby, not 'talk,' and it’s Happy Birthday.” “Happy birfday Lex, Happy Birfday Lex. Mom say you ten, that all my fingers, you verrry big Lex. Me only 'our.” “And a very clever four, Clark.” Lex could almost feel Clark beaming on the other end of the line. “Mom say Lex, splain him.” “It's talk this time, baby, and of course I will.” A few seconds later Martha’s voice was louder, she had obviously took the phone, “Hello Lex.” “Hello Martha, when did he start talking?” “A few days ago. Your birthday is written on the calendar, he has been marking down to it since Johnathon’s birthday when we had a small party and a cake. We selected some of his best drawings to send you, they should arrive tomorrow, When he started speaking, we added on our phone number. But then this morning he got impatient and wanted to talk to his Lex NOW.” Lex laughed, “May I speak to him again?” “Of course you can.” “Lex, hello ‘gain Lex.” “Hello again, Clark, how are you?” “Good Lex, how Lex? He got my present?” “Not yet, little one, your mom said tomorrow, tell me about the farm,” he requested and for the next twenty minutes he listened to the other boy prattle about the farm. He wasn’t really interested in it, he just wanted to hear the other boy’s voice. When they finally hung up with a ‘Love you Lex,’ from Clark, that Lex found he had to reply to in kind, it was also with a promise that Lex ring back at the same time next week. +++ Four weeks after his first phone call from Clark, Lex went back to the penthouse for the summer. He had already written to Clark in his last letter telling him the new address and phone number and he was looking forward to seeing his mother again. He hadn’t seen her since Christmas, she had been when he had returned for Easter, Pam had been there to look after him and his father had been in Europe during business so it had been kind of alright but he was looking forward to seeing her. Thankfully his father was on the other side of the world for the next two months. Pam met him at the top of the elevator with a hug but when he tried to go further into the Penthouse to see his mom, she stopped him. “Pam, I want to see my mom.” “In a minute, Lex; we need to talk first.” Pam led him over to the couch, sitting beside him, her arm around his back. “What’s wrong, Pam?” Lex asked nervously, he didn’t like this one bit, at ALL. “I’m sorry, honey, but your mom is ill, she wasn’t here at Easter because she was in a specialist hospital in California.” “What’s wrong with her?” Lex demanded, he could feel tears filling his eyes, he knew it couldn’t be good if Pam was telling him now before he went in. “She has cancer, Lex; she was diagnosed three years ago and they thought it was under control. It came back just before Christmas, she was already slightly ill when you were home then, during Easter she was at hospital not away with your father. They couldn’t fix it, Lex, they’ve let her come home with a nurse visiting every day because there is nothing more they could do for her.” Lex just stared at the woman, “No, she can’t be dying, she can’t,” Lex shouted then jumped off the couch and ran to his mom’s room before Pam could catch him. He stopped dead the doorway, staring at his mother, she was laying on her bed, the feeling and smell of illness in the room. He couldn't stay there, the bald boy ran through the Penthouse to his own room, slamming the door behind him. His mom couldn’t be ill, she couldn’t, she would get better, he would make her get better, he thought. He was a Luthor and nothing was impossible for him. The next four weeks were spent researching everything he could find out about his mother’s illness and if there was a cure, his research only broken by letters too and from Clark and their phone calls. It was after those four weeks that Pam had to go away, her aunt was ill and she was the only family member left. Lex didn’t want her to go, he didn’t want to be left on his own with his dying mother but there was nothing he could do. The only variation on the next week and a half was that every morning he had to go into his mother’s room and wake her, give her the first medication of the day and her breakfast before the nurse came at lunch time. It was ten days after Pam left that he went into his mom’s room and she wouldn’t wake up, he shook her and called her name but she wouldn’t wake up. It took Lex a few minutes to work out what this meant : She was dead, his mother had died. It wasn’t his father or even Pam that he wanted, it was Clark, he wanted his best friend, his destiny to hold him. He staggered from her bedside to the phone on the wall, picking it up and falling to the floor, cradling it in his hands as he dialed in the number already burned on his brain. It rang nearly twenty times before he heard the familiar tones of Martha, “Kent Farm.” Lex opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. “Hello, who’s there?” Martha asked again. “Clark,” he managed to gasp out, he wanted Clark and only Clark. “Lex, is that you?” “Clark please,” he found himself begging. “Lex, I’ll get Clark but you have to tell me what is wrong.” Lex had told Clark that his mom was ill but not how ill, not that she could die, “My mom, she won’t wake up, she’s dead. I need Clark.” It was silent for a few seconds, “Okay Lex, we’re leaving as soon as I hang up, we’ll be at the Penthouse in about three hours. Is anyone else there?” “Just me. I need Clark to hold.” “I know honey and we’ll be there soon. When will someone else arrive?” “Lunchtime. I want Clark, Martha.” “We’ll be there as soon as we can Lex but I need you to do two more things for me, ring down to the front desk and ask them to let us in.” “I can do that; they have to let Clark in.” “They will, Lex and I don’t think anything could keep Clark from you, will we need anything?” “ID.” “Okay, the second thing I want you to do is go into the kitchen and make yourself a hot drink with three spoons of sugar in it. I want you to sip it slowly and eat three chocolate biscuits before we get there.” “I will, Martha, just bring Clark,” he said and hung up. He rang down to the front desk, making sure that all three Kents could get in then went to the kitchen to follow the rest of his orders from Martha. He had no idea where the time went but it seemed like only minutes before he heard the door open and then Clark’s voice calling for him. “Lex, where you? Where Lex?” Lex left the kitchen at a run, scooping Clark into his arms before falling to the floor with the small boy on his knee as he cried for the first time. He had no idea how long he held Clark while small hands stroked his head and anywhere else they could find. Eventually someone removed Clark from his arms, he whimpered and tried to hold on but strong hands picked him up and sat him on a hip. “Shhh, son, I’m just putting you to bed. Clark will be there too.” Lex had frozen when he had been called son, his father would never forgive him for crying but then he had realized it was Jonathan. It was only a few minutes later that he was laid in his own bed, his head resting on a small flannel covered shoulder. Small arms wrapped tightly around him and he snuggled down into Clark’s small body, feeling safe and grounded for the first time since he found his mother. He found himself drifting to sleep, small hands petting his head and back, only to be woke a few hours later by Martha and Jonathan talking. “The nurse arrived and I rang the number for Pam, his sitter and Lionel that he had, I got voicemail on both and I left messages for them both. The nurse has dealt with; Lily and Lionel’s lawyers have been called.” Martha. “Is there anything else we can do?” “Wait for Lionel to ring us back, I don’t think Lex is going to want Clark to leave just now and I doubt we’ll get Clark to leave if Lex is upset.” “I know Martha, I know. I’ll ring Alan and ask him to keep and eye on the farm, I can stay here until Lionel returns but you and Clark can stay longer.” Lex smiled and drifted back to sleep, glad his Clark wasn’t going anywhere for a while, he needed his best friend. The next time he woke, it was in bed alone and to the smell of dinner, he sat up, wiping his eyes and smiled at the sight of Clark coming through the door holding a plate carefully. “Lex, awake?” “I’m awake Clark.” “Good, Lex eat, mom cook good food.” “Your mom cooked?” he asked as he took the plate from Clark and put it on his knee. “Yep, mom cook.” “Do you have a knife and fork?” Lex asked, taking in the scents of the marvelous food and realizing that he hadn’t eaten in a long time. Clark took one from his back pocket and handed them to Lex before sitting beside the bigger boy on the bed. “Sorry ‘bout Lex’s mom, Lex.” Lex took a dozen deep breaths so he didn’t burst out crying again before turning, “I know Clark and I miss her.” “Share my mom?” Lex smiled, “I’ll think about it while I eat.” Clark nodded and beamed at him before leaning into Lex’s side, it was difficult to eat with the small body attached to his side but he wouldn’t have moved Clark no matter what. The small body gave him strength to eat, to know that his mother was dead but he was still loved. That he wasn’t a monster because he hadn’t spent time with her, that she had still loved him until the end. His father arrived back the next morning, he was sat with Clark watching a video when the door slammed open and Lionel came in, his stride angry and his hair making him look like an angry tiger. “In here Lionel,” Martha called as Lionel entered the room they were in. He looked at him and Clark once, fire in his eyes then turned and went into the room with Martha and Jonathan. They talked quietly for a few minutes then it started getting louder, he still couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying and when he started to get up to find out, Clark held him gently but firmly in place. “Lex wait, mom tell what happens. Not want make Lionel mad.” Lex nodded, he had told Clark how much his father didn’t like him listening in on Lionel’s conversations unless he was told to. It was Martha who came into the room and sat beside Clark a few minutes later after it had quieted. “Are you alright, boys?” “As I can be,” Lex replied while Clark just bobbed his head. Lex couldn’t help but hug the smaller boy extra tight, he had missed that nod, “What were you talking about?” he asked diplomatically, not talking about the shouting. “Jonathan is going to go back and make sure the farm is alright but Clark and I are going to stay her until at least the funeral.” Lex nodded, “Thank-you.” “It’s alright Lex,” Martha said, “This is a bad time for you, I understand, my mother died when I was only a little older than you.” “Lex, best friend, Love Lex.” “I love you too, Clark,” Lex said, giving into the temptation and running his hands through Clark’s hair. The next five days were the most stressful of his young life, even more than waking up in hospital with no hair because at least then his mother was there. Clark and Martha was there through it all and he was thankful that Clark seemed to understand when he needed to talk and when he just needed to held or hold Clark. He also wondered why Pam never returned, he loved her and the only thing he got was a letter saying that her aunt was worse than she thought, he was big boy and no longer needed him. The funeral was the worst part of that time, Martha had to stand at the back, Clark on her hip while he had stand beside his father and show them all how sad he was about his mother. It wasn’t until six hours later that Clark found him and dragged him back to his room, holding him tight. Lex held back his tears for a few minutes until Clark started petting his head, then with a huge sob he broke down and clutched Clark tight. He had known she was dead, he had found her body but until the funeral he still hadn’t really believed it. Clark just held him, petting him, making him feel more like himself, safe and loved. Clark and his mother stayed for another day after the funeral before returning home. Lex phoned them as soon as he knew they would be home, Clark told him he was loved and read his books to him, Lex didn’t care that they were for toddlers, it was just Clark’s voice he wanted to hear. The next week was the same, he spoke to Clark on the phone for three to four hours, him telling his friend stories and Clark reading to him. The calls slowly tapered off until they happening once a week, but this didn’t stop the letters between the pair. The letters just turned more from writing about every little thing to photos, pictures and other things that couldn’t happen over the phone. When it got too much or when his father had been particularly cruel, Lex found himself picking up the phone and ringing Clark, just to hear his voice. He still missed his mother but it didn’t hurt as much as it had. +++ It wasn’t until two years after that, when he was twelve and three months that he finally got to visit Smallville again. Weekly letters and phone calls between him and Clark had been their only contact for just under three years but Lex wanted to see his best friend again. So if his father was taking him to Smallville again then he would find a way to visit Clark. He didn’t know why but this time they drove to Smallville, the three hour journey passed quickly with his nose buried in a first edition of the Hobbit. His father got out at the plant and sent him into Town to entertain himself, he just had to be back by five that afternoon. Lex had no idea why his father had dragged him all the way out to Smallville for what seemed like no reason but he was going to take advantage of it. He had five hours before he had to be back at the plant, plenty of time to go and see Clark and get his quota of hugs and petting. Lex may have only been to the farm once but he knew the route well enough to find it in his sleep. He had spent more hours than sensible plotting his route from the Penthouse to Clark. He probably knew the roads around Smallville better than anyone else alive. The Kent farm looked exactly like he remembered and in the photos that Clark had sent him. “Are you sure this is the place, Master Luthor?” The driver asked. “Yes Edward,” Lex said even as he was getting out of the Limo. Unlike his father three years earlier, Lex knocked on the door and waited for an answer. The door was opened by Martha only seconds later, she looked out at eye level then down, her face breaking into a smile at the sight of him. “Lex, how are you?” She asked as she ushered him into the house. “Good Martha, better when I see Clark.” Martha just smiled at him, “Sit at the table and I’ll get you a drink.” There was only three place settings at the table, but the empty space where he was sitting soon had a mat, plate, knife and fork. “Clark and his father are working in the top field but should be back for lunch any minute now.” Lex smiled and took a sip of juice as he waited to see Clark in person for the first time since the funeral. Martha moved around the kitchen, finishing off lunch, telling him about what Clark and Jonathan had spent the morning doing. Lex just basked in the homey atmosphere, the smell of cookies cooking, the fact that Martha had just assumed he was staying for lunch, and she hadn’t asked why he was here or why this was the first visit since that first one. It was only a few minutes later that the door opened and Clark came in, Lex would have recognized that voice anywhere. “Mom we finished in the fie- Lex, you’re here.” Clark started up a chant of Lex as he ran to him, jumping into his lap and wrapping strong arms around his neck. Clark leaned his head onto Lex’s shoulder, Lex took a deep breath, breathing in pure Clark, the scent that had part of his dreams for so long. “How long you staying?” “Just the afternoon.” “Good after lunch, we’ll play and I can show you how strong I am now.” Lex nodded and kissed Clark’s cheek, hiding his groan as Clark’s wriggling and proximity caused his small penis to start getting hard. It had only been a few weeks earlier that Bruce had showed him masturbation and only four days before he had finally shot his first load. But he had found himself thinking more about Bruce than any of the naked pictures that the other boy had shown him. He now realized it wouldn’t be Bruce any more, only his Clark. Thankfully Martha lifted Clark from his knee before he came in his pants and placed Clark on his own seat. “Eat first, Clark; then you can play with Lex.” “Yep Mom.” Lex nodded and let Clark put food on his plate, grinning when he saw that Clark had as much food as his father while he only got about half that. Clark had obviously learnt that not everyone needed to eat as much as he did. The food was delicious, nothing like he normally had but probably the best food he had had in a long time. “Glad to see you, Lex,”Jonathan said with a smile, “How is school?” Lex smiled and spent the time he was eating talking to Jonathan about how school was going, he couldn’t remember his father ever asking how school or he was. After lunch and they had cleaned up their plates, Clark pulled him out to the barn, where he showed Lex his barn and all his toys. “So how strong are you Clark?” “I can pick mom and dad up,” Clark said. “You can?” Lex asked, looking over the small boy sat at his side. “Yep.” “Can you pick me up?” Lex asked. “Course, you smaller than my mom and dad.” Clark stood up and smiled at Lex before slipping one arm under Lex’s neck and the other under his knees. Lex gasped as he was lifted off the seat and clasped Clark’s neck tightly. “Don’t worry Lex, love you, I would never drop you.” Lex slowly released his hold on Clark’s neck until he was laying in Clark’s arms, “I love you too, Clark.” The rest of the afternoon was spent with them playing and reading, Clark showing him around the farm and of course a break mid afternoon for a drink and a snack. Lex wondered how much food the six year old actually ate in a week and if he ate so much now, how much would his friend eat when he was a teenager. When it was time to leave, he didn’t want to go and Clark obviously didn’t want him to go. He got a hug from both Martha and Jonathan, along with a kiss from Martha and a handshake from Jonathan. Then Clark gave him a kiss good-bye on his cheek and a hug so tight he felt his ribs complain but didn’t say anything, he never wanted Clark to be scared to touch him. “Love you Lex, ring me when you get home.” “I will Clark.” They arrived back at the plant with five minutes to spare and at exactly five Pm his father arrived back at the Limo, climbing back in with his briefcase. As soon as they had started moving, Lionel pulled work out of his briefcase and started working again. It took him half an hour to work up the courage to ask his father why he had been brought to Smallville. “Dad why did you get me out of school so that I could spend the day on my own in Smallville?” Lionel looked up, a look Lex didn’t recognize on his face before it was schooled back to a blank canvas, “We were originally going to go to the office in Metropolis but I had a last minute call which meant I had to spend the day at the Plant in Smallville.” Lionel returned to his work, leaving Lex to wonder what that had been about then return to his book, still thinking about the afternoon he had spent with Clark. +++ For his fifteenth birthday Lex got a black Ferrari from his dad, the first thing he did was show it to Bruce and ask the other boy to cover for him when he left for the day to see Clark. He arrived at the Kent farm just after lunch, glad his birthday fell on a Saturday this year so he wouldn't have to wait for Clark to return from school. He had only been sat in the front yard for a few seconds when the whirlwind also known as Clark flew out the door. The young boy moved around the car, a bit faster than a normal human, nothing too noticeable but he would mention it to Clark. “Is this yours, Lex?” Clark asked as he opened the driver’s door. “Birthday present off my dad.” Lex climbed out of his new car and found he had to lean down to give Clark his hug. In the three years since they’d last had face to face contact, Lex had finally hit Puberty and while he hadn’t grown any real hair anywhere, (His arms had a light covering but it was barely visible) he had got taller and his voice deeper. Clark hugged him back and while one small hand ran over his bald skull, Lex found his hands moving down to get a good handful of small, tight Clark Butt. The boy may only be eight but he was beautiful and would grow up to be even more beautiful, Lex could tell. He had been at the centre of most of Lex’s jerk-off fantasies for years. Lex didn’t mind that he was fantasizing about a boy five, nearly six years his younger, he in fact didn’t mind anything about Clark, as long as the younger man still loved him and was still his friend, the younger boy could do anything he wanted. Clark was his destiny, they would always be part of each other. “Can we go for a ride?” Clark asked, beaming at him, a smile Lex knew he would never be able to say NO to. “We have to ask your mom,” Lex said, knowing Martha would skin him if she just took Clark out for a drive. “Come on Lex, quicker,” Clark demanded as he started tugging Lex towards the house, “Mom sent me to find out who it was in the car and I haven’t seen you for so long Lex.” Lex smiled as he was suddenly pulled into another hug, strong arms surrounding his waist and a small face buried in his chest, Lex wrapped his arms around the smaller body with a sigh of peace. “I missed you Lex, come back sooner next time.” It was slightly muffled against his chest but he understood it. “I will Clark, I will,” Lex promised and let the hug carry on a for another minute and a bit before pulling away and with his hand held firmly in a much smaller but stronger one, they went into the house. “Lex,” Martha said happily and came over to give him a hug, which he returned one handed as Clark wouldn’t let go if his hand. “Is that your car?” Lex nodded, “My birthday present off my father.” “And you drove here?” She asked, that motherly tone in her voice he loved so much. He might have rang up primarily to speak to Clark but he often spent at least ten or fifteen minutes talking to Martha or Kent when he had a problem or just needed some parental advice. “Yes, I wanted to show Clark my car and come and see him.” “Lex it was your fifteenth birthday not your sixteenth.” Lex nodded, understanding what she was after, “I know, but I have been able to drive for three years as you know. Included with the car was my license, I don’t how he got it but I have a valid license Martha.” Martha nodded and turned to Clark, “You can go out with Lex but you have to do as he says and be a good boy.” “Thank-you mom, I will, I’ll always be good for Lex, love him, he’s mine.” Lex smiled, he liked the sound of that, that he belonged to Clark, just as Clark belonged to him. “I’ll drive safely,” Lex promised, “I’ll take care of him.” “I know you will Lex but be back by two, Jonathan will be back by then and we are going out for the afternoon, you are welcome to join us Lex.” “I have to get back to Excelsior,” when he saw the upset on Clark’s face, he carried on quickly, “But I will be back as soon as I can, with my car it will be whenever I can get away.” Clark grinned and started dragging him back towards the door, “See you soon Mom.” “Until later Martha.” Lex made sure Clark had his seat belt on before they left the farm and he waited until they were at least a mile from the farm before pulling Clark to his knee and letting his best friend steer while he did everything else. It was five to two when they returned to the farm and Clark hadn’t shut up the entire time. He sometimes wondered how Clark always had something to talk about with him but he was happy to hear Clark’s voice, Clark’s thoughts and just plain Clark. To know that this angel was his friend and he wasn’t going to be like his father like everyone told him. “Now then you how to keep a secret don’t you Clark?” Lex asked, turning to face his friend. Clark nodded, “Like I tell no-one how strong and fast I am, except you, mom and dad.” “Just like that but this a secret between you and me, you can’t tell your parents, especially not your mom about you driving, I would get in trouble.” “I promise Lex, you’ll come back soon?” “I promise Clark, within a few weeks, now you had better go. Tell your dad I said Hi.” “I will, love you,” Clark said and leaned over, kissing Lex’s cheek before darting out the car and into the house. Lex smiled and stroked the spot he had been kissed, “Love you too Clark,” he said to the inside of the car before starting his drive back to Metropolis. He didn’t care that he had spent longer getting to and from Metropolis than he had spent with Clark but that didn’t matter, he had seen Clark. He had had the small boy sat on his knee, his arms around him and had basked in sharing personal space of his Clark. At his return he thanked Bruce for covering for him but frowned when he saw that Bruce was showing him his blank face, the one he normally showed everyone but Lex. “What’s wrong Bruce?” Lex demanded, pulling the taller boy into his room. “The lawyers are demanding that now I’m sixteen, I have to return to Gotham now if I want to take control when I’m eighteen. I leave on Monday.” Lex sank to the bed, “No you can’t leave, you’re my only friend.” “You’ll always have Clark.” “But he isn’t here, you are, who am I going to go to in the middle of the night with new discoveries, who is going to make sure no one hurts me?” Bruce chuckled, “Lex, you can write a letter to Clark with new discoveries and you are more than capable of looking after yourself. With your fencing and the martial arts I have taught you, you are more than capable of protecting yourself and others. Just like with Clark, you will write me and I write you, we’ll even talk on the phone.” “I’ll still miss you.” “I’ll miss you too Lex.” +++ Monday night was spent on the phone with Clark, just listening to his friend ramble and remind him that while Clark may not be at school with him, he was closer to this small boy than he was too anyone else. Within days of Bruce leaving Lex found himself falling in with a group that not even Bruce had known he was protecting his friend from. Without Bruce around Lex found himself getting bored and going out to the clubs that he had previously refused to go to. The first time out he stuck to water, the next time he was on beer and the third time on spirits, every time trying to have a good time and enjoy himself. It was five weeks after Bruce left that he found himself trying coke for the first time in the back room of a club. It was that night that he lost his virginity to a man twice his age in the same room that he had first had coke and it was half an hour later that he was driving to Smallville with a sore arse and a need to see Clark. It felt wrong that someone else had touched him that personally who wasn’t Clark, he needed his destiny, his Clark to hold him and tell him everything was alright. He pulled into the Kent farm and climbed out of the car, moving around the house until he could see Clark’s window, there was no lights on and no way he could get into Clark’s room. Lex returned to his car and sat, waiting for someone to wake up, to let him go to Clark. Lex must have drifted to sleep because he was woken by Jonathan taping on his window, dawn was just starting appear. “Lex what’s wrong son?” Jonathan asked after opening his door. “I need Clark.” Jonathan nodded, “He’s still asleep but I’m sure he won’t mind if you go up, just try not to wake Martha.” Lex knew he had to look bad if Jonathan was telling him to go straight up without an explanation, “Thank-you.” He didn’t bother locking his car, this was Smallville for Heavens sake. Lex went in the front door and quietly up to Clark’s room, Clark was lying on his bed in only some flannel pajamas, his quilt on the floor. Lex found he didn’t want to wake the dark haired boy who was sleeping so peacefully, he just wanted to be held. Lex stripped off his leather pants and shirt, glad the pants were his looser pair so he was only in boxers. Lex climbed into the small bed, “Lex?” Clark murmured sleepily. “It’s me, can I sleep here with you till morning?” “Course Lex, always.” Lex smiled and sat on the edge of the bed, picking up the quilt and putting it at the bottom of the bed. Clark moved to the far side of the bed and opened his arms, Lex practically dove into the small arms. Lex buried his face into flannel pajamas and sighed as strong arms surrounded him. He reached down and pulled up the quilt to his waist and Clark’s shins. “Sleep Lex, everything be alright.” Lex sighed and let himself drift, his arse still ached and the coke was still in his system but he was grounded, safe. Clark stroked his back and head as sleep started to pull him down, he snuggled into the flannel and let himself go, knowing Clark would keep him safe no matter what. He was woken hours later by Clark shaking his shoulder, he just reached up and pulled the smaller body down on top of his so he could hold him close. “Lex you have to get up, mom has some breakfast for you.” Just the thought of food and Martha’s disapproving looks were enough to make him groan and decide that getting up was not a good idea. “Lex you haveta get up, mom isn’t mad or anything, she’s just worried about you.” Lex just groaned again and held Clark tighter, he liked the fact that Martha was worried about him but didn’t want to get up and have to let go of Clark. He heard the smaller boy sigh then Clark was wriggling loose of his hold and picking him up. It took him a few seconds to realize that Clark was about to carry him down the stairs in only his boxer shorts. “Clark wait, I can’t go down like this, I’m practically naked.” “Should have got up when I told you,” Clark said, not pausing in his descent. Lex couldn’t help but chuckled, while Clark may look innocent and naive, angel like, he had an evil streak in him. The smaller boy placed him carefully on a seat and Lex did his best to hide his wince as his arse came into contact with a hard seat, he didn’t need Clark worrying about him more than he already did. “Clark Jerome Kent why isn’t he dressed?” Martha demanded. “He didn’t want to get up so I carried him down here mom, not my fault.” Martha just huffed and turned to carry on what she was cooking, Lex sighed as he felt a blanket being wrapped around him. He smiled at Clark and suffered in silence as Clark tucked the blanket tighter around him, not that he really mind this type of suffering, he loved it when Clark looked after him, even if it was just mainly on the phone and in letters. “Clark you’ve already eaten, go and finish your chores, Lex will still be here when you get back.” “Promise?” Clark asked but it was Lex he was looking at not his mom. “I promise,” Lex said and got a beaming smile in return before Clark ran out of the kitchen. Two silent moments later and a plate with three slices of toast, an egg and two slices of Bacon was placed in front of him, “Eat up Lex,” she said in her mom-rules-the-world-you-better-obey-world voice. Lex picked up a piece of lightly buttered toast and started nibbling on it, “Thank-you Martha.” “You’re welcome Lex, now are you going to tell me why you drove out here in the middle of the night?” There was that caring tone again, the one he couldn’t resist the one he didn’t want to resist but neither could he say anything. Telling Martha why he had felt the need to be held by Clark would be worse than telling Clark because she was his mother. “Lex, I didn’t always live in Smallville. I grew up in Metropolis, your mother was three years above me at school, you can talk to me, you need to talk to someone.” Lex was thrown for a few seconds, thinking that Martha Kent had known his mother, was part of that world was slightly unnerving but at the same reassuring, she would understand. “I ...you know, with a man last night.... it hurt and when it was over it felt... wrong, just wrong and I needed to see Clark,” Lex looked up at her, her face was blank, “He makes me feel safe Martha, I would never hurt him.” Martha nodded and smiled, coming around the table and pulling him into hug, blanket and all “I know you would never hurt him, just as he would never hurt you and this isn’t going to stop your invitation to come here whenever you want. But every time you come out here in the middle of the night, you are going to spend at least one more night here so I can look after you.” Lex smiled, thinking he was glad his father had brought him out to Smallville after all, he wouldn’t have met the Kents without that second trip. “Thank-you Martha.” She just gave him that motherly look and turned back to her stove, “I have to finish this but then I’m going to work on my garden, you are welcome to help me until Clark has finished his chores. I think Johnathon’s clothes should fit you best so I’ll find you some.” Lex sighed, glad to let someone take over and look after him. After dressing in some sweats and a flannel shirt, Lex helped Martha plant some flowers then spent the rest of the day with Clark. He again spent the night in Clark’s small bed before going back to Metropolis for the lunch time, of course ringing Clark as soon as he got back to School, not that he would be there much longer, it was the summer holidays in a few days. It was another four and a half weeks later before he again found himself driving to the Kent farm, like the first time, he had worked his way from water to hard drugs. This time he hadn’t had sex but the combination of drugs and alcohol made him need Clark without the restraint not to go. When he arrived, he knew he wouldn’t be able to get in but still found himself going around to the side of the house and just staring at Clark’s window. He was surprised to see a ladder leaning against the house, leading to Clark’s room but Lex Luthor had never been someone to turn down a gift. Wobbling slightly but being very careful, Lex climbed the ladder, finding not only an open window but also that the ladder had been nailed to the window sill. With more determination than grace and Skill, Lex climbed through the window. The room was lit only by moonlight but it was enough for him to strip, naked this time, and fall into Clark’s bed. The small boy moaned slightly then a small but strong arm came over his chest and pulled him close. Lex sighed in contentment and wriggled until he was chest to chest with Clark, his head tucked under a small chin. “Sleep Lex,” A slurred voice said from above him. Lex nuzzled a flannel covered chest, letting Clark’s scent surround him before letting the tiredness that had been chasing him for the last half hour take over. +++ This time when Lex woke up, Clark was still in bed with him, he was lying on top of the smaller body, his head still tucked the small chin. Lex was very glad that he had grown during puberty because it meant that his morning and Clark induced erection was grinding against the bed rather than Clark. The young boy was still only eight, still a bit too young to be taught about erections and sex. In another few years he would do for Clark what Bruce had done for him and teach him to masturbate but until then, he would wriggle out of Clarks hold and go to the bathroom to wank off thinking of his destiny with those cute little butt cheeks. Clark was dressed when Lex returned a twenty minutes later wrapped in a towel from the bathroom after his quick shower. “Lex,” Clark cried and ran over to give Lex a tight hug, “I thought I had dreamed you were here.” “No I’m really here Clark,” Lex said returning the hug. “Mom said you had to get dressed in the clothes in the bottom drawer.” Lex nodded and went over, pulling open the bottom draw of Clark’s dresser, in it there was three pairs of jeans, three t-shirts, three flannel shirts, underwear and even a pair of boots in his size, just as the clothes were. “Clark did your mom buy these?” “Yes, after you last trip, I needed new clothes so she got them for you so that you had something to fit while you were here.” Lex grinned, he might not live at the Kent Farm or even spend that much time there but he was part of the family, he belonged here. It was mid-afternoon after a morning of helping Clark with his chores and an afternoon of playing with Clark, when he found Jonathan alone in the barn, he only had one question for the older man, “Why?” “Why what Lex?” “Why did you put the ladder up? Why do you trust me with Clark? You must have seen the newspapers.” Ever since he had started clubbing, he had been in the paper at lest once a week, saying he was doing all sorts of drugs and fucking everyone and everything, from eleven year old girls to dogs. It was silent for a few minutes before Jonathan spoke, “Because I trust my son and he trusts you. Because I’ve seen you with him and I know you would never hurt him. I put the ladder there because you are going to drive out here in the middle of the night to see him, then you need him and I won’t stop you. I asked Clark first, I just wanted to give you a key but Clark suggested the ladder, said he wanted to make sure you got the right place.” “I won’t ever hurt him Jonathan, I won’t let him get mixed up with anything I am, I don't want to ruin that innocence he has.” “I know Lex and I don’t think you will but it will happen, he will learn all the things we are still shielding him from and it is you I expect to help him at that time.” Lex nodded his head, of course he would help Clark do anything he wanted to do, to understand the world outside Smallville was the least of the things he would explain. Lex’s visits continued until he was sixteen and five months, every three to five weeks he would end up at the Kent farm, it would settle him and ground him. After a trip he would return to Metropolis and try to only drink water when he went out, slowly he would build back up to hard drugs and then another trip back to Smallville. He found that he could have sex with women without having to go and see Clark and often had two women in one night. But even though he had only been fucked once by a man, he knew that he preferred sex with a man than a woman. The only problem one that every time he tried to imagine a man other than Clark, he couldn’t keep his erection. At sixteen and five months, Lex moved from Metropolis to Harvard after leaving Excelsior. The papers speculating whether he graduated and was then expelled or if he was expelled then graduated and Lex wasn’t going to clear it up. The Luthor heir attended Harvard university for two and a bit years, making sure to visit Clark at least once every two months while they still wrote and talked on the phone weekly. While in Harvard he managed to keep his drug usage to only Grass as that was what most his year mates were using. He was scared to use anything too much stronger because he didn’t want to need Clark in the way he had when he drove out to the Kent farm in the middle of the night. After his two and a bit years Lex was expelled from Harvard and while Luthor money couldn’t stop him being expelled for putting the Vice Principal in a coma, it was enough to get him into Metropolis University doing Micro Biology. He managed another two and a quarter years of university before being expelled again, this time for blowing up an entire building of science labs. He saw Clark about a dozen times during this time, only once in Metropolis after the incident at Club Zero when Martha drove Clark to him. He didn’t cry but he did just hold the smaller boy tightly, while Clark stroked and petted him. Two days after his expulsion from metropolis university, Lex was sat in the Penthouse, thinking what on earth he was going to do now. He doubted another university would take him and he didn’t actually want to go back again but neither did he know what eh wanted to do. He looked up as the door opened and his father prowled in, Lex got no greeting, not even a smile before his father spoke. “You’re going to Smallville, Lex, you can stay in the castle. maybe the responsibility of looking after the plant and some constant time with that Kent boy will make you settle down a bit. I expect you in Smallville in a month and a half.” Lex blinked and stared after his dad as the man left, he had never been sure if the man knew about his relationship with Clark as it had never been mentioned between them. But he should have known better, he had never tried to hide his relationship with Clark and of course there was the fact that Clark had been at Lily’s funeral. Lex had no idea why he had thought his father didn’t know about his relationship with Clark, it was obvious to anyone who spent more than a day with him. NO, he did know why he didn’t know, his father always brought up every little thing in Lex’s life and examined it until he found something wrong with it. His father hadn’t even mentioned the Kents in passing, never mind Clark. +++ Driving along the road towards the castle, Lex was trying to decide what to do with the building his father had said he was staying at. He had only been to the castle once, three years earlier when him and a twelve year old Clark had gone to explore and to have some privacy while Lex explained masturbation to his best friend. There was only really a few rooms he needed, an office, a den, a bedroom, a training room and of course a room that Clark could use when he stayed over. The car suddenly swerved to one side, Lex recognized the feeling of a burst tire just as he hit something hard. Lex’s eyes widened as he met familiar green eyes : Clark. They hit the water hard and Lex felt his head hit off the wheel before everything went black. His only thought that while he may die, Clark had to live, he had to be strong enough. The next thing the bald millionaire heard was Clark, “Please Lex breathe, you can’t do this to me.” With a gasp Lex recognized the lips against his as ones that normally only kissed his cheek before taking a deep breath, “Clark,” he gasped, relief in his voice, Clark was alright, alright enough to be giving him CPR. Strong hands gathered him up, hugging him tight as those hands rubbed his back and head, “I’m okay Lex, honest, whatever the meteors did to me made me tough. I think I’ll get a few bruises but that is all. Are you sure you’re okay?” “You’re here,” was all Lex said in return as he snuggled into Clark’s much larger frame. It had been about three months since he had seen, his previous month and a half had been spent exploring England, he had only seen photos of Clark’s head and while he had noticed Clark looked older, he hadn’t expected his friend to be big enough to hold him on his knee. “Lex I need you to sit down while I go and flag down help.” Lex nodded and hugged his knees to chest, gasping as Clark stood up, his friend was a small giant. Clark had never been small and he had often wondered if the Kents had guessed the wrong age for their found child, maybe he should have been five or six not only four but he supposed they had had to take Clark’s lack of understanding into account. Lex was happy when a few minutes later Clark returned and stripped off Lex’s jacket and shirt before wrapping him in a blanket and putting him back on Clark’s lap, the younger man’s body heat heating him more than the blanket. “How did you get me out?” “I ripped the top off your car, will they be able to tell?” “I’ll have it confiscated and destroyed as soon as they tow it out.” “Love you Lex.” “You too Clark, you too,” Lex replied, sure that if he hadn’t been freezing the feeling of being enclosed by Clark and those strong hands stroking him would have made him hard as a rock. It was getting dark and the cops were milling around while a truck was removing his car from the bottom of the river when he heard a familiar voice. “Clark?” “Over here, dad.” Jonathan was still walking towards them when he asked his next question, “Who was the idiot driving the car?” Lex removed his face from Clark’s neck and felt the blanket slip off his head, “That idiot would be me.” “Son, are you alright.” “I’m fine, dad.” “I’m glad, Clark, but I was talking to Lex.” Lex grinned, “I’m fine, Jonathan, Clark pulled me out.” Jonathan nodded, “I’m glad Lex, now then Clark get Lex into the truck, I’ll be sleeping on the couch if I go home without you so Martha can make sure you’re alright.” Clark lifted Lex off his knee and with his head resting on a broad shoulder and a strong arm around his neck, the pair made their way up from the riverbank to the Kent truck. He had already given instructions to have his car taken to the Castle and was very happy to go back to the Kent farm and have Martha fuss over him. Clark opened the passenger door and a few minutes later Lex found himself practically sat on Clark’s knee, held closely in strong arms and being warmed by the furnace heater that was Clark Kent. “You do realize who that is, Jonathan?” An angry voice said near the driver’s door. Lex managed to move his head to see it was the sheriff. “Clark’s best friend.” “It’s Luthor’s brat.” “Please don’t talk about my second son like that, Clark has loved that boy since the first time he met him, three months after the meteor shower. Martha loves Lex, not Lionel Luthor, he is his own person. Now unless you need anything else I am going to take my boys home.” Nothing else was said and a few minutes later the driver’s door slammed shut, “How you doing Lex?” Jonathan asked, one hand on his thigh not in a sexual way, it was purely parental, he wasn’t even sure how he knew the difference, Lionel had never laid a parental hand on him. “Warmer with my very own Clark heater.” “Glad to know it, what happened?” Lex snuggled further into Clark before speaking, “I was planning what I had to do at the Castle when I suddenly lost control, it felt like I had burst one or maybe even two tires. I looked up and there was Clark, I hit him, the only thing I wished between me hitting him and us hitting the river was that he was alright.” “I’m fine Lex,” Clark said, it was a deep rumble that he felt as well as heard. It wasn’t long before Lex found himself in some of Clark’s sweats, thick socks, a thick soft blanket wrapped around him with a changed Clark holding him tight on his knee while a fire raged in the fireplace. Martha had fussed over him and was at that minute defrosting some thick home-made vegetable soup for them both to eat. “I thought you weren’t arriving for another fortnight?” Clark questioned, “I had it marked on my calendar.” “I came back from my trip early and wanted to surprise you.” Clark chuckled, “Well next time a party will do, you don’t have to hit me with your car. Really you’ll go through cars at a very fast rate.” Lex chuckled and sighed contentedly as Martha placed a mug of warm soup in his hands, he could already feel the smell of it working on him, making him feel even more relaxed and safe than Clark did. He finished the soup with a bit of extra help from Clark then just relaxed into the warmth of Clark. “Go to sleep Lex, I have been more than capable of carrying you since I was six, you won’t end up sleeping on the couch.” “’kay, love you.” “Love you too Lex, now sleep.” Lex nodded and moved so that he could lie comfortably on Clark’s knee and bury his face into that tanned neck before drifting to sleep. Lex woke up hours later in bed on his own, the moon was enough to allow him to recognize that he wasn’t in Clark’s room and that he was on the verge of coming from a dream about naked Clark. Lex sighed and pulled down his pants, stroking his cock, imagining it was Clark, this new Clark that was bigger then him. He came with a silent groan, catching his cum in one hand and then licking his hand clean. Lex tried to get back sleep but the bed felt wrong, it felt wrong to be in a bed at the Kent farm without Clark. Before he had realized what he was doing, Lex was out of bed and moving towards Clark’s room, he just had to know that Clark was really alright. He stood in the doorway, watching that large frame take up more space on the bed than was possible. “Lex get in or go back to your own bed,” Clark slurred as he lifted up the corner of his blanket. Lex couldn’t resist, he got under the quilt and onto what little bed Clark wasn’t taking up but that wasn’t much and he found himself practically laying on top of the younger man. But he really didn’t care, he had driven off a bridge that afternoon and thought he had killed this man, his best friend. He needed a bit of comfort now, he needed to know that Clark was alive. With the familiar scent filling his lungs, Lex held onto the large body and drifted off to sleep. +++ When Lex woke he was completely covering Clark and grinding a hard-on against a strong thigh, he couldn’t help but notice the rather firm erection pressing against his hip. If it had been anyone but Clark and a woman then he would have been inside them within in a minute but this was Clark, this was someone he had promised never to hurt. And the Millionaire knew that he hurt everyone he tried to have a sexual relationship with. So he carefully removed himself from Clark’s arms and made his way to the shower, he needed to clean up and jerk off to images and feelings of this new Clark. When he made his way downstairs, he found only Jonathan sat at the Kitchen table sipping coffee. “Lex son, how are you feeling?” “Better Jonathan, much better.” “Good, I saw you in Clark’s bed.” “I couldn’t sleep without him, I would never do anything to him Jonathan,” Lex answered, hoping the older man understood what he was saying. Clark was his best friend, he deserved to grow up as normal as possible, wife, children, white picket fence, not a bald millionaire with so much baggage he needed a small truck to take it with him. Jonathan had a strange look on his face but nodded his head anyway, “I know Lex, I know you would never hurt him.” There was a strange tone in Johnathon’s voice that Lex didn’t recognize but was distracted as Clark came clattering down the stairs. “Hey dad how come I got to sleep in?” The very tall youth asked as he opened the fridge and took a drink of milk from the bottle. “I didn’t want you to wake Lex, he needed the sleep.” “’Kay, I’m going to go and do my chores, be back soon. Love you Lex, I’m glad you’re alright.” “You too Clark, you too.” +++ Lex was sat in his office, trying to get his computer to work when Clark appeared out of thin air in front of him, he knew his friend had got fast but not that fast. He was about to question his friend about it when he noticed the tears on the pale face, “Clark what’s wrong?” he asked as he pulled his best friend’s head to his shoulder. “They... they.. told me and .. and.. he showed me.....” Clark stuttered between sobs. “Told and showed you what Clark?” Lex demanded as he stroked the thick hair and could feel the larger man trembling, long arms tight around his waist. “We... we ... you and I... thought I was a mutant, caused by the meteors....” “I know that Clark but what did they show you?” “I’m... I’m....I’m not... I’m not though.” “Not what Clark?” Lex asked nervoulsy. “Not mutant, not... not...even human.” Lex went perfectly still, stopping his stroking, “Pardon?” “I’m not H..hu..hu....human, I came d..d...dow...down with the Meteors.” Lex felt his body go stiff, he couldn’t move until he felt Clark backing away from him, his entire body trembling, mumbling under his breath, “Sorry, so sorry nothing but a freak, so sorry Lex, all my fault.” Lex jumped across the room like he was Clark himself with his super powers, he grabbed his best friend in his arms and held him as tight as he could, knowing Clark wouldn’t try to escape in case he hurt Lex. He didn’t care what Clark was, he could have been a trained chimp in a human suit, a human or even an alien, he was still Lex’s best friend and his destiny. “Clark no, you aren’t a freak, you are my best friend and I love you, I don’t care if you’re an alien. Tell me exactly what happened,” Lex said as he sank to the ground, leaning against one of his bookcases, Clark stretching out so his head was in Lex’s lap. It was silent for a few minutes apart from the odd sniff from Clark as he calmed down, Lex just waited patiently, carding his fingers through thick black hair. “I’ve been wondering about my strength and speed and invulnerability, for the past two years I have been getting stronger, faster and more invulnerable at an exponential rate.” “Why didn’t you tell me?” “I’m not sure.” “What did they tell you?” “I asked how on earth even I could survive you hitting me at sixty miles an hour, I stuck my arm in the wood chipper,” Clark whispered and lifted his arm up to show Lex, there wasn’t a mark on it but he found himself taking it between his palms, running his hands up and down it, making sure it was really alright. “Did it hurt?” “No, but I broke the chipper. "Then my dad came up into the barn, he explained some stuff then me took me down to the storm cellar, they had a ship, a space ship, my ship. They found me after the meteor shower alright, naked as a could be because I had just climbed out of the ship which brought me here.” “You have a ship?” Lex asked, the awe obvious in his voice, even to him. “Yeah, I saw it and I ran out of the storm cellar, I ran straight over here, I needed to see you.” “I know Clark, I know,” Lex said as he stroked one hand down the strong back, “I love you, let’s move to the sofa, I can ring your mom and you can have a nap.” “Love you Lex.” +++ Lex watched Clark come out of school, a black boy he knew was Clark’s friend Pete Ross and a girl with blonde hair that he recognized as Chloe Sullivan, a fairly tall blonde who was talking a mile a minute. He had been in Smallville for three weeks now and had yet to meet his best friend’s other good friends. For a boy with the powers he had, Clark could be very unobservant, he hadn’t even noticed Lex was there yet. “Hey Clark, do you want a ride?” Lex asked, indicating the Ferrari he was sat on. Clark didn’t even turn, no-one did. “Clark is your new power deafness?” Lex said. Still no response. “CLARK, PLEASE TALK TO ME,” he shouted and was relieved when the raven-headed boy finally turned and looked at him. “Why would I want to look at a freak?” Clark asked him in a cold voice, a look of coldness in those green eyes he had never seen before, they had always been warm and loving to him. The only reply Lex had was to scream his best friends name......... “CLAAARRRRKK.” Lex’s own scream woke him, he recognized his own room and realized it had been nothing except a dream and a bad one at that. But for the first time in years, Lex found himself driving to the Kent farm in the middle of the night. He had no idea why the ladder was still up against Clark’s window but he was glad it was because it meant he could easily get into his best friend’s room. Clark took up much more space of the bed than he had years ago but when he blinked sleepily up at Lex, his only reaction was to roll to the far side of the bed and push back the quilt. Lex sighed, he had known the dream wasn’t real, that Clark would always be his just as he would always be Clark’s but actually being welcomed into the bed with no questions meant it was true. Once he was in his boxers Lex got into the small bed, thinking that if he was going to be spending many more nights in it or Clark got any bigger he was going to have to buy his friend a new bed. Lex snuggled until he found a comfortable position, arranging Clark so that he was laying on Clark’s strong chest with those thick arms around him and a nipple within teasing distance of his tongue, not that he would ever do that to Clark. Lex would never taint Clark with himself. +++ “Clark time to get up- Lex.” Lex sighed and lifted his head from the slab of muscle that Clark called a chest and gave Martha a shy look. “Mom?” Clark asked, his voice making Clark’s chest rumble. Lex looked up and smiled at the sleepy green eyes, they looked down at him and he was treated to a huge grin. “Both of you up, Clark you can go and do your chores while Lex helps me with breakfast.” “Yes mom.” “Yes Martha.” They dressed in silence, Lex using some of the clothes that he still had in Clark’s bottom draw before going down the stairs. Lex glad that Clark didn’t mention his farm boy induced erection. Clark gave him a quick hug before zipping out of the room, Lex looked at Martha, not exactly sure how he could help with breakfast. “Sit down Lex.” The young man automatically obeyed and waited for her next question. “I haven’t woken the pair of you up without expecting to find you in a long time,” Martha said casually as she cracked eggs into a bowl. “I had a nightmare.” Martha just looked at him, that caring look on her face, “He said I was freak and his eyes were so cold. I had to make sure he was still there, still mine,” he added quietly. “And is he?” Lex looked up and nodded, smiling at the memory of those strong arms holding him. “Good, now I think you can do with some toast.” +++ “Lex,” Clark called, Lex looked up from his PDA and smiled as Clark came over to him, greeting him with a hug. Lex knew that outside the local high school probably wasn’t the place to be introducing the town to the fact Clark was his best friend but he didn’t care and Clark didn’t seem to. When he was released from strong arms, he turned and saw that Chloe and Pete were stood watching them, Pete looking vaguely disgusted and Chloe that look in her eye he recognized from other reporters he never wanted to see again. “Ms Sullivan, Pete,” Lex said, he had met Pete for the first time many years ago but Chloe only days earlier. The two teens just nodded at him so he turned back to Clark, “You want a lift home?” Lex asked, indicating the two person sports car he had been leaning against, it was sliver and part of his birthday present from his father from earlier in the year when he had turned twenty-one. Because he had been turning twenty-one, his father had got him two cars not just one, the other car was the one in his garage, the one he had fished out of the river after hitting Clark with it. “Sure, see you tomorrow Chloe, Pete,” Clark said and waved to his friends, already moving around to the passenger door. Lex didn’t wait and as soon as they were both in the car, he powered out of the school, looking in his mirror he could see both Chloe and Pete watching with looks of disbelief and a small amount of pain on their faces. He looked over at Clark, knowing the young man never usually tried to hurt his friends, “Clark?” “Chloe found out about the accident today, then Pete explained how we had been friends for ever and she’s been bugging me all day to get her an interview with you. I did tell her she could just ask me as I know you as well as you do.” Lex smiled and reached over to squeeze Clark’s hand, nodding his head. Acknowledging that Clark actually probably knew him better than he knew himself, he told Clark everything, well nearly everything. There was one thing that Clark would never know, that he had been in love with his best friend for years. “So what do want for your sixteenth birthday?” Lex asked, unsure of what to get his best friend this year, he had bought the younger man a present every year since they had met, nothing too expensive. Because he had known that Clark would want to get him something in return and that the Kents couldn’t afford a big present. “Just you, me, some good videos and lots of snacks.” Lex smiled, somehow they had never managed to spend a birthday together, neither of the two dates but Lex had always promised that their first one together would be just them two. “I’ll get the latest DVDs, sort out food and you can stay over night.” “I’d like that Lex, I really would,” Clark replied and Lex was treated to a full grin, one of the ones that made him get hard. +++ Lex decided that in a previous life he must have done something very wrong because he was in heaven but being tortured by the untouchable. They were onto their third movie of the night, a classic : ET, one of Clark’s favourites. Through the evening Clark had moved until he was lying on the sofa with his head in Lex’s knee, he loved it that Clark was so tactile with him and hated it that he couldn’t ever have the boy. “Do you want to go home?” Lex asked, running his hands through Clark’s thick black hair. Green eyes looked up at him, confusion on his face, “I thought we were having a sleep over?” Lex chuckled, “I wasn’t talking about back to the farm, I meant home, up there, wherever you came from.” “Oh,” Clark said then was silent before finally answering, “No, I mean I would like to know why my parents sent me here and if my powers were normal but I couldn’t leave you Lex.” Lex let out a breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding, he had always known no-one on this world could take Clark away but had only just really considered another world and he was glad that Clark had quelled that fear. “I love you, Lex.” “I know, Clark; I love you too.” Clark shook his head and moved so that he was sat beside Lex, holding Lex’s smaller hands in his own. “No, Lex, you don’t know. I’m in love with you.” Lex tried to move away from Clark, unsure how on earth he was meant to resist Clark if the young man was saying that and looking at him like that with those green eyes. “No, Clark, you don’t know what you’re saying,” Lex argued, trying again to move away, pulling at his hands harder this time. Clark did let go of him but Lex found himself on the larger male’s knee, strong arms surrounding his chest and stomach and Clark’s chin on his shoulder. “I know what I’m saying Lex, I have been in love with you for two years but my dad said I had to wait until I was at least sixteen.” Lex felt all his blood drain away, “Your dad?” he whispered. “I told him a few weeks after my fourteenth birthday, after his attempt at the sex talk you had already given me that I was in love with you. That you were mine and I wanted to spend forever with you, I was so jealous of all those women you were in the paper with and it has always been you I thought of while jerking off. I told my father this and he even went so far as to buy some porn with women in it but it was still only you.” Clark paused for a few seconds, seeming to collect his thoughts, “When I told dad this he made me promise I would never talk about until I was sixteen and I agreed. But I’m sixteen now and I love you,” the last three words were whispered in his ear just before a tongue licked the side of his neck. Lex couldn’t hold back his moan as thoughts were going riot inside of him, he remembered being fifteen and promising Jonathan never to hurt Clark, never to taint him, weeks earlier after the accident when he had promised Jonathan never to hurt Clark again and that strange tone in the older man’s voice. Lex twisted his head as far as he could, determined to talk some sense into Clark and found himself taking part in the most perfect kiss of his life. Clark’s arms loosened and Lex turned so that he could kiss his best friend properly, teaching Clark how to kiss just like he had taught him so many other things. Clark’s hands had just settled on his arse when Lex pulled himself free, he couldn’t do it, he couldn’t taint Clark, make him like he was. “Lex?” Clark asked. “I’m not good enough for you, Clark, you should leave,” Lex said in the coldest voice he could manage, making sure not to look at Clark, knowing just seeing him would crumble his defenses. Strong finger held his chin and moved his head until Lex met those green eyes, “Yes you are, Lex, you are worth it and I am in love with you.” Lex could see the truth in those green eyes, see the love and trust, devotion and adoration, “I’ll taint you, make you dirty,” he said in a low voice but he knew those ears would pick it up. “No Lex, no you wouldn’t, you would never taint me. I love all the bits of you, all the bits you don’t like and all the bits you do. Lex I know why you appeared in my bed that first time, my mom told me when I told her how I felt about you. I still love you Lex, through thick and thin.” Lex wanted to believe, wanted to have this loverly hunk all for himself, he didn’t care that Clark was an alien, he had Jonathan and Martha’ permission but he was still scared. Then those big lips were touching his again, prying his mouth open and a large, warm and perfect tongue was exploring his mouth. He didn’t, couldn’t resist as he pulled onto Clark’s lap, his arms had a life of their own as they wrapped around Clark’s neck. Lex could feel his younger friend’s erection against his arse as he ground his against the wall that was Clark’s stomach. Large hands cupped his arse as Clark’s tongue moved down his throat to his neck, licking around his neck, “Love you Lex.” Lex panted for a few more seconds before speaking, “I’m in love with you Clark.” “Good.” Lex suddenly found himself on his feet, Clark in front of him, one of those large hands out to him, “What?” Lex questioned. “I think I would prefer our bedroom for our first time,” Clark said, his voice, low and husky, sending shivers straight to Lex’s dick. “Our bedroom?” he repeated like an idiot. “Ours,” Clark confirmed, “Come on Lex, I don't bite... well, that's wrong; I do bite.” The End Don’t mind the sounds of laughter as the resident Millionaire is carried off to his bedroom because after all you don’t really want to see what they do in the bedroom, do you? << |
