Lex was tired. When he looked back over the past, only gilt-covered misery covered the meandering path. Eight wives; a single daughter, lost to ambition so early on; the numbing pain of sickness caused by Kryptonite poisoning - all lay like black cancerous stains upon the fabric of his life. All had been considered necessary to his plots and schemes.

Well, Lex was sick of it. Driven by inner loathing, he found himself knocking on an unfamiliar door. A moment later, the door opened, revealing shocked green eyes.

Lex smiled sheepishly. "Is it too late for me to be saved?"
